Track your Domeneshop domains.
nmspc reads your Domeneshop domains with an API token and secret and reminds you before anything expires. It never changes them.

nmspc reads your Domeneshop domains through Domeneshop's API: when each one expires, whether it is set to be renewed, its nameservers, and the DNS records of domains on Domeneshop's nameservers. nmspc lists what it finds and you choose which domains to track; nothing is added by itself. On Free it syncs when you press Sync now, on Pro every day.

Connect Domeneshop

Steps

  1. Sign in to Domeneshop and open the API page in the control panel (admin?view=api).
  2. Create a set of API credentials and copy both the token and the secret.
  3. Paste them below. nmspc only reads, and stores them encrypted.
  4. Domeneshop's API only works for accounts on its older control panel (domene.shop), not on the new one (new.domene.shop). If your account has moved, use CSV import instead.

What nmspc reads

  • The domains in your Domeneshop account.
  • Each domain's expiry and registration dates, whether it is set to be renewed, and its nameservers.
  • DNS records of domains that use Domeneshop's DNS.

What nmspc never does

  • Renew, transfer, register or delete a domain.
  • Change DNS records, nameservers, contacts or auto-renew.
  • Buy anything or touch your payment details.

Can the token change your account?

nmspc can't check what a Domeneshop token is allowed to do, so treat it as one that can change your Domeneshop account. nmspc only ever reads with it.

Before nmspc stores it, the workspace owner ticks “I allow nmspc to store a token that can change my Domeneshop account”.

If it doesn't connect

  • Domeneshop didn't accept the token and secret. Copy both from the API page in Domeneshop's control panel (admin?view=api): the token goes in the first field, the secret in the second.
  • Domeneshop refused to list domains. Check that the token and secret are from the same set of API credentials. Domeneshop's API only works on its older control panel (domene.shop); if your account has moved to the new one, use CSV import instead.

Moving a domain away from Domeneshop

  1. Ask the new registrar for a transfer; they take it from there.
  2. For .no, .se, .com and some other endings you need the authorization code (AUTHINFO). Sign in, open My Domains and the domain. Where it says Registrar lock: ON, choose Unlock domain (.no and .se have no registrar lock), then Request authorization code (AUTHINFO).
  3. Cancel the services you had with Domeneshop so you don't get invoices for them. A renewal invoice that arrives after the move can be ignored; it is credited after a few reminders.

How do I create Domeneshop API credentials for nmspc?

Sign in to Domeneshop and open the API page in the control panel (admin?view=api). Create a set of API credentials and copy both the token and the secret.

Domeneshop's API only works for accounts on its older control panel (domene.shop). If your account has moved to the new control panel (new.domene.shop), import your domains with CSV instead.

Can the Domeneshop credentials change my account?

nmspc can't check what a Domeneshop token is allowed to do, so treat it as one that can change your Domeneshop account. nmspc only ever reads with it.

Domeneshop's API documentation describes no permission levels nmspc could check, so the owner of the nmspc workspace ticks a box to allow storing them. They are stored encrypted and only used for reading.

What does "auto-renew" mean for a Domeneshop domain?

Domeneshop renews by invoice: it sends one 30 to 60 days before the expiry date, and the domain is renewed when it is paid. nmspc shows auto-renew on when the domain is set to be renewed, and off when you have chosen to let it expire.

To change it, open the domain under My Domains and press Change next to "To be renewed". nmspc shows the new setting after its next sync.

Does Domeneshop send renewal reminders?

For .com and other generic endings, ICANN requires Domeneshop, like every accredited registrar, to email at least two reminders before a domain expires (about a month and about a week before) and one more within five days after, if it is neither renewed nor deleted.

Domeneshop sends the renewal invoice 30 to 60 days before a domain expires, so there is time to pay it or cancel the domain.

nmspc adds its own reminders 60, 30, 14, 7, 1 days before.

Why doesn't nmspc show DNS records for some of my Domeneshop domains?

Domeneshop manages DNS records only for domains that use its nameservers, so nmspc reads records only for those. Domains pointed at another DNS provider still get expiry and renewal from Domeneshop.

Does nmspc renew my Domeneshop domains?

No. nmspc never renews, transfers or changes a domain. It reads your Domeneshop domains and reminds you 60, 30, 14, 7, 1 days before each one expires, by push notification on any plan and by email on Pro. Renewing stays with Domeneshop.
