On connect nmspc checks that the key can't change your account. nmspc lists what it finds and you choose which domains to track; nothing is added by itself. On Free it syncs when you press Sync now, on Pro every day.

- In Spaceship, open API Manager and press New API key.
- Name it nmspc and give it only domains:read and dnsrecords:read. Leave every write, billing, transfer and contact scope off.
- Copy the key and the secret (the secret is shown once) and paste both below.
What nmspc reads
- The domains in your Spaceship account.
- Each domain's expiry and registration dates, auto-renew setting and status.
- DNS records of domains on Spaceship's nameservers.
What nmspc never does
- Renew, transfer, register or delete a domain.
- Change DNS records, nameservers, contacts or auto-renew.
- Buy anything or touch your payment details.
Can the key change your account?
nmspc checks whether this key can change your Spaceship account. If it can't tell, it asks you before storing it.
If nmspc asks, the workspace owner ticks “I allow nmspc to store a key that can change my Spaceship account”.

Moving a domain away from Spaceship
- Spaceship's registration agreement doesn't allow a transfer to another registrar in the first 60 days after registration.
- In Domain Manager, select the domain, press Transfer in the side panel, choose Transfer domain and follow the steps.
- An expired domain can still be transferred out during Spaceship's 30-day grace period.
How do I create a Spaceship API key for nmspc?
In Spaceship's API Manager, create a new key named nmspc with only domains:read and dnsrecords:read. Leave every write, billing, transfer and contact scope off. Copy the key and the secret; the secret is shown once.
Can the Spaceship key change my account?
nmspc checks on connect. Spaceship has no call that lists a key's scopes, so nmspc tries each kind of change with a request that can't take effect (against example.com, which can't be in your account, or with an empty body), and Spaceship must refuse every one for lack of scope. A key that could make a change is refused and nothing is saved.

Does Spaceship renew domains automatically?
When auto-renew is on for the domain (the toggle in Domain Manager) and the account has enough funds or a valid payment method, Spaceship renews it for a year. Spaceship also emails reminders to the account's email address as expiry gets closer.
nmspc adds its own reminders 60, 30, 14, 7, 1 days before.
What happens when a Spaceship domain expires?
Spaceship gives 30 days of grace in which you can renew at the normal renewal price; the domain keeps working for the first 7 of them. After that comes a redemption period that typically lasts 42 days, in which the domain can still be restored for an extra fee. Some endings, like .eu and .uk, work differently.
How do I transfer a domain away from Spaceship?
In Domain Manager, select the domain, press Transfer in the side panel and choose Transfer domain. Spaceship doesn't allow a transfer in the first 60 days after registration.
Does nmspc renew my Spaceship domains?
No. nmspc never renews, transfers or changes a domain. It reads your Spaceship domains and reminds you 60, 30, 14, 7, 1 days before each one expires, by push notification on any plan and by email on Pro. Renewing stays with Spaceship.
