Registrars / Vercel

Track your Vercel domains.
nmspc reads the domains you bought at Vercel or run on Vercel DNS, and reminds you before anything expires. It never changes them.

nmspc reads the domains you bought at Vercel or transferred to it (when each one expires, whether it renews automatically) and the domains that use Vercel DNS, with their records. Domains registered and hosted elsewhere are left out. nmspc lists what it finds and you choose which domains to track; nothing is added by itself. On Free it syncs when you press Sync now, on Pro every day.

  3. For a team, also paste its Team ID from the team's Settings › General (it starts with team_).

Moving a domain away from Vercel

  1. Check that the domain has no transfer restriction: ICANN's rules can block a move for 60 days after registration, a previous transfer or a change to the registrant details.
  2. In your team's Domains page, open the menu next to the domain and choose the transfer out item (on a team, only owners see it). Vercel shows the authorization code.
  3. Give the code to the new registrar; nothing else needs confirming at Vercel. A transfer can take up to a week.

Which Vercel domains does nmspc track?

Domains you bought at Vercel or transferred to it, with their expiry dates, and domains that use Vercel DNS, with their records. A domain registered and hosted elsewhere and only added to a Vercel project is skipped: Vercel doesn't renew those.

How do I create a Vercel token for nmspc?

On your account's Tokens page, name the token, set its scope to the team that owns your domains (or Full Account for a personal account), pick an expiration and press Create. Vercel shows the token once. For a team, also paste its Team ID.

Can the Vercel token change my account?

Vercel keys can't be limited to reading. This key can change your Vercel account. nmspc only ever reads with it.

Vercel scopes tokens to an account, a team or a project, and a token can read and write within its scope. So the owner of the nmspc workspace ticks a box to allow storing it. nmspc only sends GET requests with it.

Does Vercel renew domains automatically?

Yes, by default. Vercel emails a warning 60 days before expiry, tries to renew 30 days before and keeps retrying failed renewals after that. To stop a renewal, turn auto-renew off more than 30 days before expiry.

With auto-renew off, Vercel emails 24 and 14 days before expiry and once more when the domain expires.

How do I transfer a domain away from Vercel?

On the Domains page, open the domain's menu and choose transfer out to see the authorization code, then give it to the new registrar. On a team only owners see the option. A transfer can take up to a week.

Does nmspc renew my Vercel domains?

No. nmspc never renews, transfers or changes a domain. It reads your Vercel domains and reminds you 60, 30, 14, 7, 1 days before each one expires, by push notification on any plan and by email on Pro. Renewing stays with Vercel.
