Track your Namecheap domains.
nmspc reads your Namecheap domains through Namecheap's API and reminds you before anything expires. It never changes them.
nmspc reads your Namecheap domains through Namecheap's API: when each one expires, whether auto-renew is on, whether it's locked, and the DNS records of domains on Namecheap DNS. nmspc lists what it finds and you choose which domains to track; nothing is added by itself. On Free it syncs when you press Sync now, on Pro every day.
Connect Namecheap
Steps
- Sign in to Namecheap and open Profile › Tools. Under Business & Dev Tools, press Manage next to Namecheap API Access.
- Turn API access on and copy the API key. Namecheap only allows this for accounts with 20 or more domains, $50 or more on the balance, or $50 spent in the last two years.
- Namecheap keys can't be made read-only: this one can change your whole account. nmspc only ever reads with it, and stores it encrypted.
What nmspc reads
- The domains in your Namecheap account.
- Each domain's expiry and registration dates, auto-renew setting, and whether it is locked or expired.
- DNS records of domains that use Namecheap DNS. nmspc only sends two commands: domains.getList and domains.dns.getHosts.
What nmspc never does
- Renew, transfer, register or delete a domain.
- Change DNS records, nameservers, contacts or auto-renew.
- Buy anything or touch your payment details.
Can the key change your account?

If it doesn't connect
- Namecheap only answers calls from whitelisted IPv4 addresses. nmspc's Settings page for Namecheap shows the IP address to add under Whitelisted IPs, in Profile › Tools › Business & Dev Tools › Manage next to Namecheap API Access.
- Namecheap refused the API key. Check it was copied in full and that API access is on. Namecheap only turns it on for accounts with 20+ domains, a $50+ balance or $50 spent in the last two years; otherwise use CSV import.
- Namecheap doesn't know that API user or username. The API user is your Namecheap username.
