Registrars / Loopia
Track your Loopia domains.
nmspc connects to Loopia read-only and reminds you before anything expires.
nmspc reads your Loopia domains with a LoopiaAPI user that may only read: when each one expires, whether it is set to renew, whether it's paid, and the DNS records of domains on Loopia DNS. nmspc lists what it finds and you choose which domains to track; nothing is added by itself. On Free it syncs when you press Sync now, on Pro every day.
Connect Loopia
Steps
- Create a read-only API user in Loopia. In Loopia Customer Zone, go to Account settings › LoopiaAPI and create an API user with a long, unique password. Under its privileges, tick only: getDomains, getDomain, getSubdomains, getZoneRecords. The last two are only needed for DNS records. Leave everything else unticked: nmspc refuses users that can change your account.
- Paste the API user (it ends in @loopiaapi) and its password in nmspc under Settings › Integrations › Loopia. Checked with Loopia, stored encrypted, never shown again. You choose which domains to import.
What nmspc reads
- The domains in your Loopia account, and domains that only use Loopia DNS.
- Each domain's expiry date, whether it is set to renew, and whether it is paid.
- DNS records of domains on Loopia DNS (up to 10 domains per sync).
What nmspc never does
- Renew, transfer, register or delete a domain.
- Change DNS records, nameservers, contacts or auto-renew.
- Buy anything or touch your payment details.
Can the key change your account?
nmspc checks that the Loopia key is read-only before storing it, and refuses one that can change your Loopia account.
If it doesn't connect
- The username is the API user's, ending in @loopiaapi, not your Loopia login.
- An API user that can change your account is refused. In Loopia, untick everything except getDomains, getDomain, getSubdomains, getZoneRecords, then try again.
- Loopia allows 60 calls a minute, so nmspc spaces its calls and a sync takes a little while.
About Loopia
- Website
- www.loopia.se
- API
- LoopiaAPI over XML-RPC at https://api.loopia.se/RPCSERV, up to 60 calls a minute.
- Renewal
- Renewals are invoiced one month ahead; an unpaid invoice means the domain isn't renewed.

Check any domain now, no account needed: when it expires and who it's registered with.

Moving a domain away from Loopia
- Sign in to Loopia Customer Zone, click or search for the domain, and choose Transfer av domännamn in the window that opens to generate an authorization code.
- For .se and .nu, every new code you generate is valid. Give it to the new registrar.
- If no code can be generated, Loopia is often not the registrar for that domain; check at whois.loopia.se, or email Loopia's registry team with your customer number.
How do I create a LoopiaAPI user for nmspc?
In Loopia Customer Zone, go to Account settings › LoopiaAPI and create an API user with a long, unique password. Tick only getDomains, getDomain, getSubdomains, getZoneRecords; the last two are only needed for DNS records.
Is the Loopia connection read-only?
Yes. When you connect, nmspc checks that the API user can list domains, then tries a change on a domain that can't exist. Loopia must refuse it as not allowed; if it doesn't, the user is refused and nothing is saved.
How does renewal work at Loopia?
Loopia invoices domain renewals one month in advance, by the month the domain was registered. If the invoice isn't paid, the domain isn't renewed. A saved card with automatic payments is charged when the invoice falls due.
nmspc reminds you 60, 30, 14, 7, 1 days before the expiry date, whatever the invoice says.
How do I stop a Loopia domain from renewing?
In Customer Zone, find the domain and choose to deactivate it. It is taken off the renewal invoice; if every domain on an invoice is deactivated, the invoice is credited.
How do I get an authorization code to move a domain from Loopia?
In Customer Zone, open the domain and choose Transfer av domännamn to generate a code, then give it to the new registrar. If it can't be generated, Loopia may not be the domain's registrar.
Why does a Loopia sync take a while?
LoopiaAPI allows up to 60 calls a minute, so nmspc waits a little over a second between calls. Keep the page open while it syncs.
Does nmspc renew my Loopia domains?
No. nmspc never renews, transfers or changes a domain. It reads your Loopia domains and reminds you 60, 30, 14, 7, 1 days before each one expires, by push notification on any plan and by email on Pro. Renewing stays with Loopia.
